Last month I was the Haberdashers Hall wedding photographer for Natasha and Sam. Natasha attended the school so Haberdashers was a natural choice for her wedding. Haberdashers Hall is in West Smithfield near the market (more on that later). Sir Michael Hopkins, The famous architect, designed the building. As a result, Haberdashers Hall is a lovely blend of old and new. Natasha and Sam’s Jewish wedding ceremony was held at the stunning Bevis Marks synagogue. Bevis Marks is the oldest synagogue in the country and the ceremony was emotional. The Rabbi himself sang to the couple during the service in such a heartfelt, beautiful way.
After the emotions of the speeches (Sam sang to his new bride) and the madness of the Israeli dancing the goodbyes were said we headed off into the night. We were on a mission to create some night time portraits at the now empty Smithfield Market. It was midnight.
I am really pleased with what we created. You never know what you are going to discover and what light will be there to work with. These shoots are some of the most challenging times as a professional wedding photographer. That is why I love to do them so much!
So, if you have selected Haberdashers Hall for your big day, then let’s chat about your plans. Maybe you are a returning student? I am an accomplished Haberdashers Hall wedding photographer with over 10 years experience as a professional photographer. I have all the intimate knowledge of this special venue and the surrounding area too!
