August 2014 was an epic month and it seemed that I spent more of my time outside of the UK than in it.
It was great to be the Jewish wedding photographers for Kitty and Robbie. The big day took place in the southern french countryside at Les Mas Des Oules not far from Avignon and Nimes. One of the aspects of destination weddings that I find fulfilling is the ability to be around everyone for a day or two before the wedding itself. I always have a camera on me and I can add context to the story because of this additional time together.
I first met Kitty when she was modelling several years ago and, to some extent, it felt like old times again to be at her wedding shooting for her. Robbie is a professional rugby player and you can imagine the banter that went on between him and his groomsmen who all seem to play for various rugby teams too. I think the most important groomsman was Dexter though. Dexter, the chocolate lab, made the trip especially from the UK for the week-long event in France.
Love that dog. 🙂
It was so nice to be able to speak to them today after they received their wedding photos a couple of days ago. Kitty sent me this message after having looked of the images for the first time.
“Thank you thank you thank you. These photos are incredible we can’t thank you enough. We love you and love what you did. Robbies said he was going to call today (he’s off playing golf!). But we’d love to see you and take the dogs for a walk this week or whenever you get some time and thank you properly.
I hope you had a lovely summer!
All our love
Xxx”
