I hope you enjoy these photographs from Joanne and Jacob’s vibrant wedding. My challenge to myself with this blog post was to try to tell the narrative of the wedding with the fewest photographs possible! The ceremony took place at the Central Synagogue on Hallam Street in London. I have shot many weddings there and everyone is so welcoming and inclusive. This is one aspect of Jewish weddings that I appreciate so much being a photographer. It enables me to get the emotional moment that are the reason for what I do as a Jewish wedding photographer.
The reception took place at The Royal Horticultural Halls on Vincent Square. I love the look of surprise and pleasure on Joanne and Jacob’s faces as they walk into the halls for the first time. I really enjoy the Israeli dancing. It is an important aspect of Jewish weddings and I am always in the middle of it all. In my opinion, it’s the best way to kick of a wedding reception. Maybe we should make it mandatory for all weddings! Over the years, I have enjoyed doing the research into the traditions associated with Jewish weddings. This link is a good one for more information.
Aside from the traditions and the energy of the Israeli dancing it was a treat to see Joanne speak to everyone. It was quite emotional watching her address Jacob in front of all their friends and family. I included a photo of his reaction for you!
Enjoy!
